  • Trip Fares vary from $5.00 to $8.00 one way depending on the area the trip originates.
  • Out of county trips are charged per mile.
  • To find out the exact cost of a trip, or for more information please call Horizons INC Public Transit Office.
  • Donations to Horizons INC Public Transit are gladly accepted, HOWEVER, tipping the driver is NOT permitted.

  • Our service is provided from the door at your pickup point to the door at your destination.
  • The driver MAY assist you to and from the door when boarding and/or leaving the van but is NEVER permitted to enter the residence and/or building
  • A Personal Care Attendant (PCA) may assist you at no extra cost, however you MUST NOTIFY us in advance that you will have a PCA.
  • The driver will secure all wheelchairs and packages and will assist with seatbelts if needed.
  • Bags Must be small enough not to obstruct other riders or block aisles. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY or PCA to load and unload bags. The driver will assist you if requested, however, they are NOT permitted to handle packages/bags weighing over 25 pounds each.

Cancellations:

  • Horizons INC Public Transit has a 45 minute arrival window at each pickup location. This means the van can arrive to pick you up anytime from 25 minutes before to 20 minutes after your scheduled pick up time.
  • Once the van arrives, it will only wait 10 minutes before going on and reporting you as a no show. Once the van leaves the pick up point, it may not be able to come back.
  • It is your responsibility to be ready to board the van within the 45 minute pickup window.

  • It is important if you do not need your trip that you cancel at least 1 hour prior to your scheduled pickup. Voicemails are permitted if the office is closed or if operators are busy.
  • You will be considered a NO SHOW if you fail to cancel 1 hour prior to scheduled pick up time. 
  • PLEASE NOTE: EXCESSIVE NO SHOWS CAN LEAD TO SUSPENSION OF YOUR SERVICE.

  • Seatbelts MUST be worn while the vehicle is in motion.
  • Child Safety Seats are required to be used in accordance to Ohio's Child Passenger Safety Law. PASSENGERS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN CHILD SAFTEY AND/OR BOOSTER SEAT.
  • ALL wheelchairs must be secured.
  • An adult MUST accompany all children under the age of 16 UNLESS child's parent/guardian has made prior arrangements.

  • Passengers are permitted to carry a portable oxygen tank or portable oxygen concentrator on the van, however, the passenger is responsible to maintain control of the oxygen tank.
  • IF the passenger cannot pull, carry, or maintain control of the oxygen tank a PCA can perform those functions for the passenger.

Riders are permitted to bring non-service animals on board, however, they MUST be caged.
